Flaska is a proud partner of the Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization (LAEO) since 2020.

LAEO is a non-profit conservation organization founded by the late Lawrence Anthony, who was a South African conservationist. It operates globally with the mission of promoting sustainable living, conservation and management of the earth’s resources. This is achieved through education, restoration programs and research.

None survive alone

Lawrence Anthony is very well known for authoring the books “The Elephant Whisperer” and the “Babylon’s Ark” in which he depicts rescuing and rehabilitating animals in Africa and Iraq.

The most known and notable projects of LAEO are:

 

  1. The VETPAW Initiative: This program focuses on the training of African rangers in techniques that help them fight poaching.
  2. The Thula Thula Rhino Fund: established to support the protection of rhinos it the Thula Thula Game reserve in South Africa.
  3. Ivory, not medicine campaign: the aim of this campaign is to raise awareness about the decline of the elephant population due to the illegal ivory trade.
  4. The Water Stewardship Initiative:  is a program that promotes sustainable practices of water management and increasing access to clean water in communities around the world.

Cooperative Ecology

Lawrence Anthony also created the term “Cooperative Ecology” (CoEco in short) to describe and promote the idea of collaborative efforts of various stakeholders to achieve ecological sustainability. LAEO is dedicated to educating and raising awareness about the Cooperative Ecology thinking throughout society.

We are proud to contribute to the cause by donating 10% of each Flaska CoEco sold to the Lawrence Anthony organization.
